Rustic Wedding at Tucker House

Love stories are meant to be cherished, and Fanny and Antoine’s rustic wedding at Tucker House in Rockland was a true testament to the beauty of love, nature, and heartfelt celebrations. Nestled in the heart of Rockland, Tucker House provided the perfect backdrop for a romantic and enchanting affair. Join us as we step into the pages of Fanny and Antoine’s love story, where rustic charm and genuine emotions blended seamlessly.

A Dream Venue: Tucker House

Tucker House, an idyllic haven with its rustic charm and natural beauty, set the stage for Fanny and Antoine’s wedding. Surrounded by lush gardens, towering trees, and the warm embrace of nature, the venue exuded an intimate and welcoming atmosphere. The weathered barn wood and vintage accents added to the rustic elegance, creating a fairy tale-like setting for their special day.

The Love-Infused Details:
Every detail of Fanny and Antoine’s rustic wedding was a reflection of their love story. From the burlap and lace decorations that adorned the ceremony area to the handcrafted wooden signs that guided guests, each element was carefully chosen to encapsulate their journey. The color palette, inspired by nature’s palette, brought a sense of organic beauty to the celebration, creating a cohesive and captivating aesthetic.

Under the Open Sky: The Ceremony
The outdoor ceremony was a vision of romance and simplicity. Against the backdrop of majestic trees and a gentle breeze and Tucker house itself, Fanny and Antoine exchanged their vows under an arch adorned with delicate blooms. The rustling leaves and soft sunlight created an ethereal atmosphere, where promises were made and dreams took flight. It was a true honor to immortalize these moments and, turning them into a visual narrative of love.

Celebration Amidst Nature: The Reception
The reception was a celebration of love, laughter, and the joy of togetherness. Long wooden tables were adorned with rustic centerpieces, and fairy lights danced above, creating an enchanting ambiance. As the sun dipped below the horizon and the looking storm clouds in sight, the twinkling lights and the rustic surroundings merged to form a picture-perfect scene. It was the calm before the storm however, as the heavy clouds began to stream in.

Dancing into Forever: The First Dance
Under the starlit sky, they shared their first dance as a married couple. Their love and happiness were palpable, radiating to all who surrounded them. As they twirled and swayed to the music, we were able to beautifully encapsulate their connection. These images will forever hold the memory of their first steps into a lifetime of togetherness.

Conclusion: A Love Etched in Time
Fanny and Antoine’s rustic wedding at Tucker House in Rockland was a true celebration of their love and the beauty of nature. With every detail carefully orchestrated and every emotion captured, their wedding day became a timeless tale of romance. As they embarked on this new chapter of their lives, their love story was forever etched in the hearts of all who were present and immortalized through their lovely photos.

Wedding at Lago

Jessica and Sebastien’s wedding at Lago brought back so many great memories for us. Only 5 short years ago, we also tied the know at this amazing venue and still can’t get enough of the cozy vibe it offers. We have so much to say about Lago and the service given by Gyneya, Kim, and all of their incredible staff. They are really next level and make the whole process so easy for everyone. What really reeled us in was the evening ambiance and how the space just makes everyone feel so close. You’ll see what we mean as you scroll through Jessica and Sebastien’s blog.

Jess and Seb came to us through a google search as many of our clients do. What unfolded next was pretty funny! As we began our Zoom call, we asked them to tell us about themselves. Nothing strange about that right? As Jessica goes on, she begins to tell us that she is a lawyer at Sicotte Guilbeault Law. Ironically enough, Jess works there as well and as they continue talking, they both realize that their offices are right across the hall from each other! How ironic!

Seb and I couldn’t help but shake our heads that they never noticed. Thanks to covid, they had no idea they worked in the same office let alone share an office so close to each other. That being said, our relationship with them began with a lot of laughter, as many consultations do and we went on to develop an instant bond. This is so important for us as it builds the trust we need to establish with our clients so they have faith in what we do.

Enough blabbering on….enjoy their wedding!

Home Engagement Session

A home engagement session is not something we commonly do. But when the opportunity to try something new comes around, you take it. Read on to see how this home engagement session came to be.

Our story with Dominique & Mike goes back to the pre pandemic days when things weren’t so complicated with Covid rampantly making its rounds.

After reaching out to us and scheduling our initial consultation a week later, we looked forward to meeting them both as they sounded so lovely. Our kind of people! Just a few days later around 6pm, Jess and I were chilling in our living room, chatting about our day and planning our weekend when suddenly the doorbell rings. Now we don’t have a lot of people ringing our doorbell on the best of days so naturally we looked at each other inquisitively. As I walked to the door in some of the rattiest comfy pants and t-shirt I own, there stood two shadows waiting for the door to open. Naturally I was curious to see who it was.

Our consultation resulted in an instant connection. The kind that makes us sigh with hopes that we have the opportunity to work with them. We look for connection with our clients because that closeness gives us a deeper understanding of what’s important to them. It allows us to bring out more emotion during their engagement session.

As I open the door, I’m greeted by two of the happiest people I have ever met. As they stood there smiling from ear to ear, I waited for the sales pitch. It never came. Given the awkward silence and perplexed look on my face, they looked at each other and suddenly realized they had shown up for their consultation a week early. At that moment, all I thought was how thankful I was that our house is always clean! As they apologized and turned to head back home, I invited them in and asked for a moment so we could run and change. As is our approach with weddings, the show must go on!

When it came time to plan Dominique & Mike’s engagement session, they suggested doing it at home. This is something we don’t do often as most people chose outdoor settings with nature elements. Home engagement sessions are a fantastic way of personalizing your photos to have more meaning. Doing things you love together in a comfortable setting that brings out who you are together.

This was a really fun home engagement session. Not everyone is up for these but we really feel it brings out people’s personalities a bit more when they are comfortable in their own space. We’ll definitely be recommending these in the future. Now we can’t wait for their wedding in October at Le Manoir de la Foret!

Wedding at Aquatopia

Erin and Andy had their wedding at a location we have come to truly love working at. Aquatopia has steadily become one of Ottawa’s best wedding venues and stands out with amazing greenery and backdrops. From a couple’s perspective, it leaves nothing desired as the venue has an incredible dining space, dance floor, and rooms to freshen up or sit back for a moment of quietness.

If your palate appreciates fine cuisine, you are in luck as the appetizers and meals are outstanding as well.

Enough gushing about the venue, let’s talk about this incredible wedding! THE VIBE….there’s something to say about being relaxed on your wedding day and these two did just that. Surrounded by grounded family and friends, they took the day in stride with ease. Something we preach but seldom see. We love seeing people absorbed in their day and unfazed by the unexpected. Proof that if you go with the flow, your day can be everything you want it to be.

The Low down on this wedding at Aquatopia

What stood out for us at this Aquatopia wedding was how connected Erin and Andy were with everyone. They took the time to be present with every single person in attendance and made them feel special, including us. Once the ceremony began and Erin walked in looking as stunning as she did, all eyes were on Andy as he swooned over his lovely bride walking down the aisle. We always love the reaction grooms have during this moment. Looking at their photos, we can truly feel how he felt as she came toward him.

There were a lot of moments that stood out for us on this day. Let me tell you the second the in-house DJ dropped the first beat; all hell broke loose on the dance floor and it continued the entire evening. One look at the photos will show you what we mean!

Again, we really can’t say enough about having your wedding at Aquatopia. It’s one rad place!

Wedding at Wilderness Tours

Adele and Joel’s wedding at Wilderness Tours was one that we looked forward to. Although we had only briefly met Adele and her posse at the Ottawa Wedding Show, we had an instant connection with her. It’s not often that we are so drawn to clients and naturally we were thrilled that she had chosen us to photograph their wedding. We learned quite a bit about them in that short time which led to much anticipation in the months leading up to their big day.

We really enjoy getting to know our clients. When a wedding day arrives, this knowledge helps us predetermine what our intentions for shooting will be and we can draw on that to tell a more intimate and detailed story. On this day, we discovered quite a bit. We learned that Joel’s family owned Wilderness Tours and that it had been in their family for quite some time. It was great to see the entire family’s involvement in the resort and how much it meant to them. It was apparent that family was important as this was one tight unit!

As this was our very first time to the resort, Joel and Adele’s tour guide instincts quickly kicked in as they gave us a million and one ideas as to where we could take them. Their suggestions were spot on! All before the brief storm came barrelling in and left just as quickly as it arrived.

Honestly, if every wedding could be like this, life would be a dream. I say this often and I’m realizing that most of our weddings are exactly that. We’re so lucky to work with amazing couples. It certainly makes our job a gazillion times easier and pleasant!

reasons why engagement sessions are important

Arboretum Engagement Session

Shauna & Rob’s Arboretum engagement session blew our socks off right from the start. Considering it was late fall, we really weren’t expecting the colours to be so vibrant.

Although we have done countless engagement sessions here, one thing we wanted to focus on was making it different than all previous sessions. We wanted it to be unique!

As we began their engagement session, they commented on how beautiful it was to our left. Jess and I looked over and instantly realized we had never gone down that direction. We decided to give it a shot. How do you know if you don’t try right? To our surprise, there were deep greens and a lovely path with trees arching over top. We love finding nooks and crannies so this was right up our alley. Bring on the dark and moody!

Fortunately Mother Nature played nice and as a result, these were some of our favourite photos of this short season. It goes without saying that Shauna and Rob were amazing to work with. They were the main the reason their images stood out for us too. Because they went along with every silly thing we asked of them and trusted us every step of the way, their photos are just beautiful. We can’t emphasize how important this is. One thing we are good at is making people feel comfortable in front of the camera. By engaging couples and having them play silly games, we’re able to draw out natural emotion without them realizing it. It’s these subtle details that allow us to make couples look their best for photos and it gives them a little reassurance along the way.

If you’re thinking of having an Arboretum engagement session , click HERE to see it on the map.

Don’t forget to reach out to us when you’re ready for your Arboretum engagement session and we’ll make it happen!
We hope you enjoy their photos!

Princess Louise Falls Engagement Session

Princess Louise Falls is one of Ottawa’s best hidden gems. It offers a unique location and endless possibilities for incredible engagement photos! One would think that a location like this would lay deep in rural wooded areas, but in fact, it is just meters from St-Joseph road in Orleans. That’s pretty awesome for us as we live just a few km from there.
