Weddings are just so damn fun. We’re reminded of this every time we pack up at the end of each wedding night

This was especially true for Jesse & Michael’s wedding at ALE (Amberwood Lounge & Eatery).  It also happened to be our first same sex wedding.  Something we had been looking forward to photograph for a long time.  As an inclusive business, it was such a privilege.  In some weird way, it seems fate always saves our best weddings for the last of the season.  We met Jesse at the Tie The Knot wedding show and instantly felt drawn to his personality.  Especially as he passionately described his wedding and Michael, his groom to be.  After meeting them for our initial consult, we knew we wanted to be a part of it.

One thing we have to mention is how incredibly organized Jesse is.  The detail and planning that went into this day was mind blowing, for instance.  This guy put some wedding industry folks to shame.  Yes, he is that good!   He thought of absolutely everything and then some.

Jesse and Michael’s wedding was the first same sex wedding to take place at ALE and St-John’s Anglican Church.  This was a big deal to them, as it should be.  It really says a lot about how far society has come in accepting love for what it is.  Needless to say, there were some very proud people in attendance, ourselves included.

It was simply amazing to see the support Jesse & Michael received from their families.   The energy levels were high and it led to some of the craziest dance floor shenanigans we’ve ever been a part of.

We tried to leave so many times but just kept getting pulled right back in because we didn’t want to miss out.  It got better by the minute!
