Brittany & Michael’s Strathmere wedding was one that we were particularly looking forward to. After spending some time together during their engagement session, it became instantly clear how sweet, warm and personable they were. This early stage in our relationship set the tone for what would be an incredible progression in our journey together. From the very beginning, we earned their trust, allowing us free reign to capture their wedding how we saw fit. It’s moments like these where we feel our creativity lets loose and results in some of our favourite work. With a candid and non intrusive approach, we were able to record moments that both Brittany & Michael had no idea were being documented. We are often told by clients that these are the most precious as they look back and relive each segment of their day.
I’m using the term ‘we’ here and although Jess was involved from the very beginning of our interactions with Brittany & Michael, she was unable to attend as she was scheduled to photograph another client’s wedding. We rarely split up but had no choice in this case. Enter Ryan Seyau from Rubicon Photography. I have always been amazed at Ryan’s work and had worked with him in the past. His dedication to the craft and his attention to detail make him one of the strongest shooters I know. It was an honour to have him photograph this wedding with me and his contribution is much appreciated.
Strathmere is by far one of the most sought after wedding venues in Ottawa. With 3 great locations to host weddings from small to large, it also boasts some fantastic backdrops to capture some incredible outdoor photos in a variety of settings. It’s one of those places that you just never get tired of going to because there is always something new to incorporate in our work it seems. With this in mind, we are always excited for the opportunity to photograph there. The food is always first class as is the service and staff.
We hope you enjoy this glimpse into Brittany & Michael’s day as much as we did.
